about

Gorgeous Day in Hell is the second single from the upcoming narrative driven album “Death Crossed Lovers” and a collaboration with Singer/Songwriter GHADA.
It’s a song about the mundanity of daily life and the pressures of putting hypocritical smiles every day for the sole purpose of masking whatever’s underneath those smiles.
It’s also part of the overall narrative of “Death Crossed Lover” the new story-based Statues of Sinking Men album.

lyrics

[Verse 1]
When you're strolling round the park
On a sunny day
Thinking of the day you saw your faker.
Tried to shout the words that made thousands fade away
But look around you everyone is waiting

[Segue]
Halt, wait, let me wear my face
Please, let me be a freak

[Verse 2]
Sound the sirens, shake your head, agree to everything.
Right or wrong, doesn't matter, it's fun.
Watch the fires, and the fumes but keep a steady smile.
And remember everyone is waiting.

[Segue]
Act, pose, one scene at a time.
Stand, bow to the crowd.

[Chorus]
What a gorgeous day in heaven
What a gorgeous day in hell.

[Verse 3]
Back to strolling round the park on a rainy day.
Water dripping ruining your makeup.
And underneath all dark teary shadow eyes.
Everyone is seeing what you're made of.

[Segue]
Halt, wait, let me tear my face
But I'll still be a freak.

[Verse 4]
Sound the sirens, shake your head, agree to everything.
Right or wrong, doesn't matter, it's fun.
And when you get to face the wrath of God.
just remember everyone is waiting.

[Segue]
Frown, cry, break down when you're free.
Grin, drink up your tears.

[Chorus]
What a gorgeous day in heaven
What a gorgeous day in hell

[Bridge]
Heal me, but really don't
Free me, then lead me on.
Heal me, but really don't
Free me, then lead me on.
Heal me, but really don't
Free me, then lead me on.
Heal me, but really don't
Free me, then lead me on.

[Post Bridge]
Anger sadness heaven hell
Let me choose who to become
Anger sadness heaven hell
Now I'm a liar, didn't help
The art you molded by yourself
Now I'm a liar didn't help.
I'm a liar didn't help.
(Whole worlds die to save a life
In need of truths.
Oaths sworn to breath new life
And save the youth)
